In today’s episode I’m discussing the way to choose the right computer game with my uncle and game expert Marc Bodmer, who has been working in the field of interactive media for more than 25 years. Marc talked about the myth of computer games and violence. Recent research, Marc shared showed no relationship between violent computer games and violence offline. He emphasized, how important it is to follow age guidelines, and content appropriate to the preference of the player. He’s not a fan of the free-2-play-model and suggests that families should look at subscription models like Apple’s Arcade or Google’s Play Pass. And: It’s valuable to play with your child and for children to play with patience together with their parents.
This is the second episode of a series focusing on video games and the interdependence of interactive entertainment and players of all age groups.

As Swiss woman conducting international research in medical science, I’ve always wished for more Swiss female role models. Since they’re rare, I decided to do all in my power to make a change. Acting as a role model for the generation of young female researchers to come. Being a member of women in global health, I’m supporting women globally. I’ve recently launched my own company UNE SUR CENT to empower women in all professions to get ahead, connected, and inspire each other. It’s a women’s world.

Many couples living in longterm relationship romantic end up living in a roommate like setting.
It’s so easy to happen, that we go about our daily business; work, family obligations, hobbies, friends, but forget or are too exhausted to focus on our partners. They’re there anyway, they’re still leaving the dishes in the dishwasher, which annoys us ever since we’ve met them…etc.
The lack of dedicated attention only on our partner, is what leads the lack of passion and room for seduction.
Take out time for each other EVERY WEEK, add it to your calendar, even if it’s only 5min a day.

International Couple’s Life: Job Sharing
Living as an international couple comes with a lot of excitement, diversity, novel encounters, cultural heritage from more than one country, family roles, food traditions, and multiple languages.
In our family, it's my husband who cooks every day, he's in charge of the majority of our domestic work. To me as a Swiss woman, this is incredibly empowering. A dynamic that's in contrast to the mainstream.

Perseverance of effort combined with passion for long-term goals have always been my default mode to go. My PhD motto was: there’s no mountain high enough. No matter what I do in life, perseverance has been a powerful motivation to achieve my visions. The intrinsic motivation that comes with perseverance and focussing on the internal competition to achieve goals is what drives me everyday. This perseverance of effort promotes the overcoming of obstacles or challenges that lie on the path to accomplishment and serves as a driving force in achievement realization. Personally, this has always been 100% me, it’s not for everyone, I’m well aware of it, but being perseverant and achieve goals can be a good role model for others.

In the 1920ies and 30ies my great grandmothers have been involved in the women’s rights movement in Switzerland. One of them moved to Malaysia to start ten mines with her later to be husband, the other one was a French pianist and multilingual. My step-great grandma, the first women to ride as a jockey around the spring parade in Zurich (Sechseläuten).
Grandma wanted to become an airplane ingenieur and in her free time built airplane models. Grandma flew around the world with her parents, partially grew up in Malaysia and Australia.
My mother decided to move to Australia on her own, to work as a nurse and later travelled the Middle East all by herself: Afghanistan, Syria, United Emirates, before returning to Switzerland.
The heritage of these inspiring, independent women of their time gave me the courage to move forward with my own project. Developing my own company to inspire and support women, feels like following in their early footsteps of female empowerment in Switzerland.
A country where even I was born before all women had their right to vote. This year is the 50-year and 30-year anniversary of the Swiss women’s right to vote.
A time to set the spotlight on the glass ceiling effect, the salary inequality, the lack of female role models, and the ongoing discrimination of women to persuade their intellectual freedom.
