In today’s episode I’m discussing how life skills can be learned by playing computer games, together with my uncle and game expert Marc Bodmer, who has been working in the field of interactive media for more than 25 years.
Marc talked about the seven survival skills, according to Harvard Professor Tony Wagner, that are trained by playing computer games. Yet, the challenge of the transfer to professional life and school remains. These seven survival skills are the following:
- Criticial Thinking & Problem-Solving
- Collaboration Across Networks & Leading by Influence
- Agility & Adaptability
- Initiative & Entrepreneurialism
- Effective Oral & Written Communication
- Accessing & Analysing Information
- Curiosity & Imagination
This is the fourth episode of a series focusing on video games and the interdependence of interactive entertainment and players of all age groups.

In today’s episode I’m discussing the way to choose the right computer game with my uncle and game expert Marc Bodmer, who has been working in the field of interactive media for more than 25 years. Marc talked about the myth of computer games and violence. Recent research, Marc shared showed no relationship between violent computer games and violence offline. He emphasized, how important it is to follow age guidelines, and content appropriate to the preference of the player. He’s not a fan of the free-2-play-model and suggests that families should look at subscription models like Apple’s Arcade or Google’s Play Pass. And: It’s valuable to play with your child and for children to play with patience together with their parents.
This is the second episode of a series focusing on video games and the interdependence of interactive entertainment and players of all age groups.

As Swiss woman conducting international research in medical science, I’ve always wished for more Swiss female role models. Since they’re rare, I decided to do all in my power to make a change. Acting as a role model for the generation of young female researchers to come. Being a member of women in global health, I’m supporting women globally. I’ve recently launched my own company UNE SUR CENT to empower women in all professions to get ahead, connected, and inspire each other. It’s a women’s world.

Many couples living in longterm relationship romantic end up living in a roommate like setting.
It’s so easy to happen, that we go about our daily business; work, family obligations, hobbies, friends, but forget or are too exhausted to focus on our partners. They’re there anyway, they’re still leaving the dishes in the dishwasher, which annoys us ever since we’ve met them…etc.
The lack of dedicated attention only on our partner, is what leads the lack of passion and room for seduction.
Take out time for each other EVERY WEEK, add it to your calendar, even if it’s only 5min a day.
